About the event
Craig Cammell is a composer, saxophonist, and bass clarinetist who is commonly observed as an artist with quirky compositional sensibilities and an energetic playing style. He has been an active member in the Los Angeles music scene since 2010. After graduating with his BM in performance from California State University Northridge, Craig proceeded to construct his own creative musical/artistic outlets.
Influenced by a diverse range of musicians, Craig draws inspiration from artists such as Charlie Hunter, John Ellis, Cannonball Adderley, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Will Vinson, Thad Jones, and Joe Henderson. These legendary figures have shaped his musical development and helped mold his unique approach to composition and performance.
Craig's compositions reflect a fusion of these influences, blending elements of jazz, funk, and contemporary styles. With over 30 pieces of big band music to his credit, he showcases his talent for crafting intricate and engaging arrangements for large ensembles. His…
